About
Ebb and Flow First Nation Jordan’s Principle aims to solidify safe, well-planned, meaningful solutions-based child-first initiatives while delivering quality care services based on client needs. We also aim to create healing pathways ensuring none of our clients go without the proper channelled support that aid them in navigating the education, health, and social systems with effective methods that prove productive resulting in client safety and health improvements within their circle of care.

In honoring the legacy of Jordan River Anderson, Ebb and Flow First Nation Jordan’s Principle aims to deliver quality care in service delivery that essentially supports clients to help them overcome the challenges and access the products, services, and supports within the education, health, and social systems in a timely manner while supporting child-first initiatives.

Submit a Request Under Jordan’s Principle
Individual or Family Request
Back 2 Basics funding is no longer eligible for
community group requests for 2025-2026. Families can still make an individual request to region.
Health Services:
Includes medical care, mental health support, dental care, and the provision of necessary medical equipment or supplies. For example, if a First Nations child requires medical equipment, and there’s a dispute over who should pay for it, Jordan’s Principle ensures the child receives the equipment immediately without waiting for a resolution.
Education:
Ensures that First Nations children have access to appropriate educational services, including special education needs or supports, that may not be available in their community.
Social Services:
Provides access to social services that may be needed for First Nations children, including child protection services, early childhood development programs, and services related to family or community care.
Cultural Supports:
Facilitates access to programs that help preserve and promote the child’s cultural heritage, including language programs and ceremonies.
Mental Health and Wellness:
Provides services for mental health, including counseling and therapeutic services, ensuring that children facing mental health challenges can receive support in a timely manner.
