Ka-ka-kwe-ke-je-ong, also known as Ebb and Flow First Nation is located along the west shore of Ebb and Flow Lake, and is approximately 240 km northwest of Winnipeg. The First Nation is accessible by a season road on highway 278.

Notice of Nomination Meeting & Election 2025
Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Electors of the Ebb & Flow First Nation will be held at the Arena Complex on the 18th day June 2025, beginning at 4:00pm and lasting for at least three hours, for the purposes of nominating candidates for the positions of One (1) Chief and Four (4) Councillor positions.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES:
- Any elector may nominate candidates by delivering or sending by mail, email or fax to the Electoral Officer a completed, signed and witnessed nomination and voter declaration form before the time set for the nomination meeting, OR by making a nomination orally at the nomination meeting.
- Under the First Nations Elections Act, an elector must not nominate more than One (1) candidate for the position of Chief and no more than Four (4) candidates for the position of Councillor.
- The Council of the Ebb & Flow First Nation has set a candidate fee amount of $250.00 for both Chief and Council positions.
- Under the First Nations Elections Act, a nominee does not become a candidate until they deliver to the Electoral Officer or Deputy Electoral Officer, by the deadline of 6 p.m. on June 21, 2025, a signed Candidate Declaration form, which can be obtained from the Electoral Officer. The candidate fee must be received by the deadline, which can be in the form of cash, e-transfer, cheque, or money order payable to the Electoral Officer.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE ELECTION:
- The General Election will be held on the 23rd day of July 2025, at the Ebb & Flow First Nation Arena Complex from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Counting of Ballots will be after the close of polls.
- An Advance Poll will be held on July 14, 2025 in Winnipeg, MB at the Victoria Inn, 1808 Wellington Ave, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Any Elector may vote by mail-in ballot by submitting a Request for Mail-in Ballot form, which can be obtained from the Electoral Officer, along with a copy of identification,by the deadline of July 17th, 2025.
- Any elector may permit the electoral officer to release their name to the candidates for the purpose of campaigning.
