- Understands and respects that each child develops at his or her own rate and supports this by providing a developmentally appropriate environment.
- Respects the child, offering guidance when needed while at the same time, understanding the child’s individual personality and needs.

THE SEVEN SACRED TEACHINGS
It is our belief that all races were given these basic teachings, which are required to live in harmony with oneself amongst ourselves and all the living beings on Mother Earth.
The Ojibway First Nation people have suffered for many years due to white man invasion. As a result of this, First Nation people have lost sight of their identity and the sacred teachings. It is the mission and vision of the Ebb and Flow First Nation to reaffirm the beliefs of the Seven Sacred Teachings as passed on down from First Nation Elders.
It is important that these sacred teachings are taught to the youth.
Each of these teachings carries a special gift from the creator.
Respect:
Treat your body with respect, it will look after itself, treat it with poison, it will destroy itself.
Love:
Love is the hub of the medicine wheel. It is symbolic of life and the creator. Man is capable of understanding of the creator. So, in turn he gave us a way to experience and enjoy love through our children.
Honesty:
It is from within and not to be confused with the truth (law). In reality there is no “ifs” and “buts”, there can only be honesty.
Courgage:
We seek the strength and courage to face out greatest enemy – oneself. The bear will give us the understanding to seek resolutions through intervention, hence, spiritual healing to deal with ourselves.
Humility:
In ones life, we need to understand humility. In our individual lives, humility becomes a factor, which allows us to ask for guidance humbly.
Wisdom:
Wisdom is not to be confused with knowledge. Wisdom is the gained experience and knowledge to know the difference and to accept the responsibility and accountability.
Truth:
Truth is symbolic of law and principle.
