Ka-ka-kwe-ke-je-ong, also known as Ebb and Flow First Nation is located along the west shore of Ebb and Flow Lake, and is approximately 240 km northwest of Winnipeg. The First Nation is accessible by a season road on highway 278.
The reserve’s area is approximately 11,000 acres. Much of the land is under marginal agricultural use. Residential and community facility development are concentrated in the southeast portion of the community adjacent to the shore of Ebb and Flow Lake.

Ebb and Flow First Nation is a signatory of Treaty 2 signed in 1871, and as such is a member of Anishinaabe Culture and Language.
The traditional language of the community is Ojibway, better known as “Anishinaabemowin”.
The First Nation has an on-reserve population of 1,742 and 1,396 members live off-reserve. There are approximately 400 occupied private dwellings.
Ebb and Flow First Nation is governed by a Chief and Council serving two-year terms, with elections being held in November of even numbered years.
